Julia M. (Albanese) Chiarizia's Obituary
Julia M. (Albanese) Chiarizia, 95, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Loretto Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse. Julia was born in Syracuse to the late Angelo and Theresa Albanese. Julia’s family was her life, she loved to spend as much time with them as she could. She was most proud of the business her and her late husband, Joseph, started in 1955, Josall Syracuse, Incorporated, which was taken over by their 3 sons and nephew, Michael Maselli, and is now being transitioned to a 3rd generation. She enjoyed the many years she got to work beside her husband and her children and family. In her later years, she enjoyed her retirement and time in Scottsdale, Arizona, trips to the casino, and being with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Julia was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Rose Marie Chiarizia-Hojnacki; sister, Marian Maselli; and half-brother, Joseph Sanfillippo.
She is survived by her 4 children, Joseph (Barbara) Chiarizia, Anthony Chiarizia (Deb Emmert), Julie Chiarizia Woodson, and Richard Chiarizia; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Julia’s life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 12:00 PM in Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Julia’s name may be made to Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 Brewerton Rd. Cicero, NY 13039.
