Julio R. Fenocchi's Obituary
Julio R. Fenocchi passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was 96 years old.
Julio was born in Grondola, Italy to Maria Micheli and John Fenocchi. After his mother’s death he immigrated as a child to the United States with his father, two brothers and sister and settled in Syracuse, NY where he lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. For the last 20 years, he returned to Italy in the summer to spend time with family.
Julio graduated from North High School, Syracuse Secretarial School and Syracuse University. He served as Staff Sergeant in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the 99th infantry and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Julio worked for General Electric for over 30 years in the Radio and TV division.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, GE Elfuns and the Battle of the Bulge Veterans Association. He was also active in Spaulding Support Services organization and was on the Board of Directors. Julio dedicated his time to making the Annual Spaulding Bocce Tournament a success!
He was married on November 25, 1950 to Grace Aloi until her death in 1995; he was also predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Julio is survived by his three children – Mary Elizabeth of Utica, Debra of New York City and John of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Julio’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:00 am in Christ the King Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
