Julio Manzi's Obituary
Julio Manzi, 92, passed away July 27, 2024 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Alfred and Maria (DeAngelis) Manzi. Julio served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received the National Defense Service Medal and Occupational Medal for service in Germany. He worked as a Hairstylist for over 50 dedicated years in Syracuse and Ft. Lauderdale and was very well regarded in both states. Julio was a devout Catholic who set aside time everyday to grow closer to Christ through Novenas and prayer. He was a true gentleman that enjoyed entertaining with cocktail hours and dinners with his closest’ s friends through the years and was blessed to have his devoted friend Eddie by his side to the very end.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas Manzi, and dear friend, Frank LaPenta, Jr.
Julio’s sister, Lucy Vecchio passed away on August 3, 2024.
He is survived by his niece, Sharon Michaels (Tom Gunningsmith); two nephews, Anthony (Debbie) Vecchio and Salvatore (Jackie) Vecchio; great-nieces and nephews; his lifelong friend, Dianne Phipps, whom he considered a sister, and devoted dear friend, Edward Fruscello.
Julio was the most wonderful brother and uncle there could ever be.
