June Elizabeth (Easterly) Casey's Obituary
June Elizabeth (Easterly) Casey peacefully passed away on January 31, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
June was born to the late Frank and Irene Easterly on June 27, 1939, in Syracuse, New York. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol, and her brother, Frank.
June graduated from St. John the Baptist, where she later worked at the elementary school. She also volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital and prided herself as being one of the first volunteers at Francis House. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, most of all.
She is survived by her husband, James P. Casey, of 67 years. They were blessed with 10 children, Mary Beth (Bob) Owens, Colleen (Tom) Mercurio, James Jr. (Leslie) Casey, Shawn (Vinnie) Trichilo, Maureen (John) DalPan, Dan (Stephanie) Casey, Brian (Sabrina) Casey, Sheila (Kevin) Collins, Shannon (Michael) Pfautz, and Mark Casey, along with 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, her sister, Diane, and sister-in-law, Loreen, several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist/Holy Trinity Church, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of June’s life at 12:30 in the church, 406 Court St. Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of June Casey to the Francis House.
