Karen M. Lanning's Obituary
Karen M. Lanning, 49, of Syracuse, passed from this earthly life to eternal life due to a sudden and unfortunate aneurysm. Karen was a life resident of Syracuse, attended Sacred Heart School, Westhill High School, and received her Associates degree from OCC. She began her retail career at Chappell’s and later Bon Ton for over 20 years. She was most recently employed by National Grid where she worked for the past 8 years. She was an avid NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed her annual wine tours with friends, and above all, loved being with her family and friends any chance she could.
Karen was predeceased by her grandparents.
Karen is survived by her mother, Carol (Wieczorek) Lanning; father, Jerry Lanning; brother, Kevin (Denise) Lanning; sister, Erin (Rob) Stafford; several aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, and cousins; as well as her beloved pug dog, Buster.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 9:30 AM in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave. Syracuse. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
