Katherine (Zalla) Brigandi's Obituary
Katherine (Zalla) Brigandi, 87, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette (Cifra) Zalla. Katherine retried from Utica Mutual Ins. Co. after many years of dedicated service. She was an avid NY Yankee and SU sports fan. Katherine enjoyed bowling and her many bus trips to The Turning Stone Casino. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Anthony J. Brigandi III and her former husband, Anthony J. Brigandi, Jr.
Katherine is survived by three sons, David (Terry) Brigandi, Daniel (Maryanne) Brigandi, and Philip (Kim) Brigandi; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Antoinette (Daniel) Magaro; her brother, Joseph (Penny) Zalla; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Katherine’s life at 9:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
