Katherine Loretta (Farrow) Chaney's Obituary
Katherine Loretta (Farrow) Chaney, 97, of East Texas and Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Elderwood Nursing Home. Katherine was born on January 28, 1923 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late Jesse and Ola Mae (Spencer) Farrow and moved to New York State in the 1950’s. Family and friends were essential to Katherine and she was affectionately known as “Loretta” by most of her friends and “G.G”. and “Grammy” by her great-grandchildren. Aside from her children, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was the most important person to her.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her former spouse, Jack T. Chaney.
Loretta is survived by her two children, Jack W. (Carolyn) Chaney of Cicero, NY and Casey Chaney of Pasadena, CA; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Katherine Loretta’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Elderwood Nursing Home.
Private funeral services were held locally in Syracuse. Katherine will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
