Katherine J. "Kathy" Varre's Obituary
Katherine J. “Kathy” Varre, 77, of Bridgeport, NY, passed away December 13, 2022 at Oneida Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Angelo “Sonny” Varre and Elia (Letizia) Maglione. Kathy worked at Fay’s Drugs for many years. She enjoyed watching TV, especially the Food Network, cooking, baking, crocheting, and trips to the casino. Kathy had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters who were her Angels, Michelle, Andrea, and Theresa; she was also predeceased by her brother, Jimmy Sesta; her brothers-in-law, Charles B. Middleton and Lloyd “Scooch” Smith; and her fiancé, Larry Yates.
Kathy is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Robert) Smith and Carrie (Tom) Boyle, her son, Lee (Terri) Redhead; grandchildren, Michael Smith (Heather) and Ashley (Brock) Redhead; two sisters, Patricia Middleton, and Diana Smith; a brother, Danford Backus; nephews, Michael (Margaret) Middleton, Charles Middleton (Laura); and her furry son, Buddy.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Kathy’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
