Kathleen R. (Burian) Olszewski's Obituary
Kathleen R. (Burian) Olszewski, 63, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse to the late Carlton and Esther (Farley) Burian and graduated from Tully High School. Kathy worked as the director of operations at the Onondaga County Board of Elections for 36 years before retiring, and later worked as an election technician. She also enjoyed spending time with her golden retrievers, traveling (especially to Hawaii), and playing golf.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Esther Vossler and Carlton (Carolyn) Burian, Jr.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Michael; brothers-in-law, Rick (JoLee) Olszewski and John Olszewski; nieces and nephews, Valery Aherin, Martin L. (Missy) Bishop, Michelle M. (Mark) Edinger, John (Jennifer) Vossler, Carl (Margaret) Burian III, Chris (Jamie) Burian; great-nieces and nephews, Joshua, Samantha, Mackenzie, Nicole, Michael, Danielle, Marty III, Sierra, Jake, Teagan, Ashton, Mason, Carmela, Edward, Charlotte, Erikka, Korrie, Case, Lucas and Sydney; great-great-nieces and nephews, Justin, Brandon, Ashley, Avigail, Nora Jo and Madison; along with many cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Kathy’s life at 12:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.), North Syracuse, NY.
