Kathleen A. (Traver) Rose's Obituary
Kathleen A. (Traver) Rose, 65, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. She was born in Syracuse to the late Charles and Marion (Rood) Traver.
Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Kathleen was an incomparable homemaker with a heart of gold. Originally from North Syracuse, Kathy “Kath” met the love of her life in October 1976. Mike and Kath were engaged 2 months later and married in August 1977 where they started an amazing 45-year adventure. Kathy was always the silent one in charge, keeping calm in chaos and entertaining with a natural flair that was easy to envy. Kathy loved traveling with her husband throughout the US and Europe. When their first son Jason was born in 1978 Kathy knew she was meant to be a mother. Courtney came a few years later, followed by Brian, and Kaitlin. Living in New York, Texas and Michigan, Kathy made every house they lived in a comfortable and stylish home for her family where they enjoyed every holiday tradition she so relished with friends and family.
After Mike retired in 2008, he and Kathy moved to Arizona for the warm winter sun and to be closer to grandchildren. Kathy loved her kids and being a mom but becoming “Meemah” was one of her biggest joys in life. Kathy and Mike eventually became Arizona snowbirds enjoying summers at Camp in the Adirondacks where she could enjoy the warm weather she enjoyed most all year long. Kathy had an infectious smile and was always willing to help. Her laugh could light up any room she was in and while we’ll always long for the sight and sound of that laughter, the impact she left on those she knew has made a lasting impression that will never fade.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Michael T. Rose; children, Jason (Inga) Rose, Courtney (Paul IV) Hodges, Brian (Stef) Rose, and Kaitlin (Victor) Perez; grandchildren, Maddie and Mia Jo Rose, Paul V, Finn and Hannah Hodges; Simon and Nora Perez; siblings, Marilyn Kafka, Garrett, Greg and Jeff Traver; mother in law, Thelma Rose, her beloved dogs, Daisy Rose & Zoey; along with several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
