Kathryn A. (Mumford) Tofani's Obituary
Kathryn A. Tofani, 72, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at James Square in Syracuse, NY after a long illness. She was born in Rome, NY to the late Harold and Frances (Cellini) Mumford. Kate received her R.N. from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1965. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Kate is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Edick, Rose Anne Gowans, Abigail Froelich, and Sandra Satterlee; brothers John Mumford and Peter Mumford.
Kate is survived by her husband of 50 years, Alfred; her son, Peter (Jodi) of Hoover, AL; her daughters, Amy (Michael) Karsonovich of Hampton Falls, NH, Greta (Dana) Patterson of Liverpool, NY and Mary (Robert) Kawa of Fayetteville, NY; her son, Alfred Tofani of Houston, TX and her grandchildren, Gabrielle Tofani, Olivia Tofani, Jacob Tofani, Clayton Patterson, Joseph Karsonovich, John Karsonovich, Meredith Karsonovich, Drew Patterson, Evelyn Kawa, Madeline Karsonovich, Elizabeth Kawa and Luke Tofani. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Wood of Newark, NY; brothers, Harold (Arden) Mumford and James (Sandy) Mumford, both of Rome, NY; sisters-in-law, Gail Mumford of Verona, NY and Sandra Mumford of Rome, NY; brothers-in-law, John (Joan) Tofani of Ilion, NY and Leon Caporale of Rome, NY; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the compassionate care given to her by the entire staff at James Square.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Rose of Lima Church, N. Syracuse. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
