Kathy (Wasickanin) Barbagallo's Obituary
Kathy (Wasickanin) Barbagallo, 62, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 13, 2023. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 25, 1960 to George and Annette Wasickanin. She was the bookkeeper of the family business for many years, in addition to working many parties and banquets. Kathy lived her life fully, enjoying many hobbies and sports along the way. Those who spent time with her knew they could find her golfing, playing billiards, skiing, spending time with her family, or working on one of her many different crafts. She enjoyed creating pottery, decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs, oil painting, glass fusion, rock painting, and so much more. Kathy was always finding a new way to express herself creatively and her loved ones treasured her handmade gifts. Kathy’s generosity and thoughtfulness were boundless; she always seemed to know just the right gift to get someone, and she never hesitated to make people feel special and loved. You always felt welcome with Kathy, and she brought joy to all those fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Alfred Barbagallo; her children, Matthew Barbagallo, Katie Barbagallo, Daniel Barbagallo, Michelle (Kevin) Koehler, and Jennifer Barbagallo; two grandsons, Jacob and Michael Koehler; parents, George and Annette Wasickanin; twin brother, Karl (Linda) Wasickanin; brother, George Wasickanin, sister; Susan (Robert) Rayo; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Ziggy, Athena, and Samson.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023, at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A prayer service will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Kathy’s life at her place of worship, Cicero United Methodist Church at 9:30 am. She will be laid to rest in North Syracuse Cemetery.
