Katina "Tina" (Tserepas) Aravantinos' Obituary
Katina “Tina” (Tserepas) Aravantinos, 78, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly from a tragic car accident on May 21, 2021. She was born in Kokkari, Samos Greece to the late Kostas and Elefteria Tserepas. In 1969 she immigrated to the United States with her late husband Dimitrios Aravantinos.
Katina, along with her late husband, was the owner/operator of Jimmy’s Place Restaurant in North Syracuse until 1999. In 2000 she began working for Wegmans in Dewitt in the seafood department and retired in 2012. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than having large family gatherings at her home with too much food. She was a kind and generous person who only had something positive to say. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, playing Sudoku, and helping out her friends and family anyway she could.
Katina was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 48 years Dimitrios and her sister, Golfo Tsatlogiannis of Sydney, Australia. Katina loved her family and is survived by her daughters, Dena (Galo) Almeida of Queens N.Y. and Angela (Scott) Murphy of Cicero, N.Y. She is also survived by her grandsons, Cosmo, Dimitri and Christos (Jenny) Almeida and Daniel and Nicholas Murphy; her brother, Christos Tserepas of Sydney, Australia; along with several nieces, nephews and her four beloved grand dogs.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Katina’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church. Please visit St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church YouTube page if you wish to view remotely at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
