Kenneth James "Ken" Buckley's Obituary
Kenneth James Buckley, known affectionately as Ken, passed away on August 27, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL, at the age of 79. Born on November 15, 1944, in Newport, RI, he was a devoted family man and friend who always had those he cared about on his mind.
Ken was a long-time resident of North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School followed by Rhode Island College, where he laid the educational foundations for his future. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and Rhode Island National Guard. Ken was also a brother of the Masonic Lodge dedicating himself to the values of duty and community that he held so dear throughout his life.
Professionally, Ken was a dedicated employee at Invensys (formerly The Foxboro Company), where he applied his knack for problem-solving. Some of his greatest friendships developed at work.
He was a lover of the outdoors, often found fishing working on his lawn or in the garage, always with a smile for anyone who passed by. His home was a frequent gathering spot for the neighborhood children to play kickball, manhunt and get mower rides.
Ken leaves behind a loving family: his son Brandon Buckley, daughter Sarah Barrett, sons-in-law Michael Tumolo and Liam Barrett, and his adored grandson Desmond. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna (Stephens) Buckley.
A memorial service will be held privately at a later date with close friends and family, celebrating the life of a man who was generous with his time and love, and who met every challenge with a smile.
Ken Buckley will be remembered as a man who loved a good challenge, cherished his family, and served both his community and country with pride. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
