Kevin A. Gochanour, Sr.'s Obituary
Kevin Gochanour, Sr., 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on March 17, 2016. Born in Syracuse, Kevin graduated from Liverpool High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Army. After achieving the rank of Drill Sergeant and receiving an Honorable discharge, Kevin graduated from OCC and SUNY IT earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. In addition to affording his expertise as an Electrical Engineer to Inficon for 16 years, Kevin’s compassion for others was shared in his service with CNY DSO for 30 years.
In his free time, Kevin enjoyed skiing, boating, golfing and any opportunity he could spend with his loved ones at his little slice of paradise nestled between the shores of South Sandy Pond and Lake Ontario.
Kevin is predeceased by his parents, Larry and Ann Gochanour.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Lanzafame) of 34 years; daughter, Valerie (Rob) Castro; sons, Kevin (Rachel) and Chris (Ulonda) and Jaquan; sisters, Theresa (Donnie) and Annette (Mark); as well as several grandchildren he adored, several nieces and nephews, and countless close friends and his loving dog Shay.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Matthew’s Church. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
