I am so sorry to hear of my friends passing. Very few people have made such a profound difference in my Academic journey that I carried The relationship into my personal life. Laurel sat next to me during our channel 9 interview, stepped in personally to introduce me when I walked across the stage, and we had plans to meet over the summer once everything calm down with Covid. I’m truly heartbroken by this news. Not many professors has a gift that reaches students, therefore not many people have the gift of genuine authenticity. I love her dearly and I’m truly going to miss her. My heart grieves with you all.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Laurel. I will always remember her as optimistic and upbeat, curious and creative. She was quite a person and so much fun to be around. Laurel was part of our Dickman's Nursery Group in the spring and of our Auburn Art Museum Quilt Group in the winter. I hope with time, you turn to all of the happy memories of your lives with Laurel.

So sad to hear about the loss of Laurel! She was my professor for 2 journalism classes at OCC. I learned so much from her and she always had such great stories to tell. I went on to receive my bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland where she wrote me a gleaming recommendation. May she rest in peace! I know she will be missed dearly by so many students!
