Laurence Joseph Carni's Obituary
Laurence Joseph Carni, 81, of Clermont, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Josephine (DeCarlo) and Joseph Carni. Laurence was a Captain with the U.S. Air Force and received his Bachelors of Science in Political Science at Syracuse University. He retired as President from Carrier Properties Limited. Laurence was an Entrepreneur Extraordinaire, Restauranteur, Political Scientist, Creative Director of Advertising and Marketing, Campaign Consultant, Political Strategist, Architectural Designer, a perpetual student of linguistics and a master of articulation. Overall Laurence was a true Renaissance Man. He was also a dedicated Roman Catholic and Congregate of Blessed Sacrament Church in Clermont, Florida.
He was predeceased by his brothers, James, Michael, Richard and Robert Carni, and his sister, Marion T. Bavaria.
Laurence is survived by five children, Lance Carni, Kimberly (Richard) Di Pietro, Cassan (Jeffrey) Henley, Shane Carni and Kyle Robert (Nicole) Carni; nine grandchildren, Kasey Carni, Chiara-Michele Carni, Dillon Di Pietro, Austin Di Pietro, Zachary Henley, Jessica Di Pietro, Jake Henley, Riley Di Pietro and Allario Assante Carni; his sister, Sylvia Crupe, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Laurence’s life at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
