Laurie A. (Becker) Stoddard's Obituary
Laurie Ann (Becker) Stoddard of Syracuse passed away peacefully in her family home at the age of 58. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Winslow) Becker.
Laurie had an extensive and productive career with AT&T as a Global Corporate Service Representative.
Laurie will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the love she had for her friends, the love she had for music. She will also be remembered for her many lovable quirks. Laurie never found a Stephen King book that she didn’t like, a Kenny Rogers song unfit to play on Christmas day, or a game that she wouldn’t participate in. Although singularly fond of games of chance, Laurie was also a tenacious scrabble player and had the rare combination of dedication and patience required to see a game of Monopoly through to the end.
For her short time on Earth, Laurie lived like a butterfly, and found her greatest happiness in flight. Those of us who remain on Earth can be certain that she will face her new journey with the same sense of wonder and thirst for adventure that characterized her time here with us.
Laurie is survived by her husband of six years, Scot Stoddard; her three sons, Peter J. Zalizniak, Greg (Katie) Zalizniak, and Michael Becker; four grandchildren, Hannah, Carson, and Parker Zalizniak, and Alexandra Becker; her brother, Donald Becker; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4 – 6:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Laurie’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
