Lawrence V. Losty, Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence V. Losty, Jr., “Larry” “Boukie”, 71, of Syracuse, passed away on October 23, 2023 after a 2-year, valiant battle against cancer in the arms of his beloved wife and 5 adoring daughters.
He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., son of the late Lawrence V. Losty, Sr. and Consuelo G. (Wilbur). Larry’s most esteemed accomplishment was the cherished family he built with his wife Pam.
Larry’s life exemplified the value of hard work which he instilled in the lives of his daughters.
His legacy of love, generosity, and encouragement will live on in the lives of those he has left behind.
Larry had a true zest for life, he enjoyed camping, hunting, his grandchildren’s sporting events, Syracuse University Athletics, the New York Yankees, and a proud supporter of Niagara University Athletics.
Larry was the owner of the Syracuse Business Center, Inc. For over 40 years, he successfully led the family-operated, office furniture business alongside his wife and daughter Melissa, with tireless effort, dedication, and passion. His real estate development of the former R.E. Dietz Lantern Factory with his son-in-law and its revitalization of the Park Avenue Neighborhood was one of his greatest successes.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Pamela S. (Saroney) Losty; five daughters, Melissa (Elwood) Morgan, Elizabeth Losty, Susan (Matthew) Paulus, Jillian Losty and Kelly Losty; eight grandchildren, McKayla, Luke, Aiden, Matthew, Mark, Katherine, Patrick, Jack; puppy Lucy; three siblings, Kathy (Jim) Chant, John (Terry) Losty and Trish (John) Barsanti and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at Upstate Cancer Center, 5 South at Crouse Hospital, and Francis House for their warmth, kindness, and compassionate care.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
The memory of Larry will forever remain in our hearts and his spirit lives on through the lives of his family.
