Lawrence S. "Larry" Podeswik's Obituary
Lawrence S. “Larry” Podeswik, 60, of East Syracuse, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Syracuse and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Larry retired from Carrier Corporation after 27 years of service.
He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Podeswik.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Robin S. (Eaton) Podeswik; two daughters, Danielle (Podeswik) Simmons (Nick Simmons) and Lisa Podeswik (Frank Bacon); six grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlynn, Alicia, Gavin, Destany and Nicolas; his mother, Bessie Podeswik; siblings, David, Mary, Wayne, Craig, Ann, Stan and Rose, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
