Lawrence Scimone's Obituary
Lawrence Scimone, 94, of Liverpool, passed away on May 2, 2020 surrounded by the family he loved. He was born in Syracuse to the late Anthony and Santa (Piccione) Scimone, raised on the north side of Syracuse and graduated from North High School, class of 1944. Lawrence was among the first graduating class from LeMoyne College in 1951 and also served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He later retired from Carrier Corporation in 1982 after a long career as an engineer but remained active in the American Society for Quality Control.
Besides his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances and his sister, Josephine Fernandez.
Larry is survived by his three sons, Robert Scimone, Thomas (Mary) Scimone and Lawrence (Catherine) Scimone; seven grandchildren, Mark (Jody), Robert (Gina), Matthew (Jennifer), Stephen (Marilynn), Dena (Jon), Michael (Jill) and Timothy (Katie); five great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lawrence’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
