Lee Vecchiarelli's Obituary
Lee Vecchiarelli of Syracuse passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Italy, he served with the U.S. Army during WWII where he received his Purple Heart. Lee was a member of the Moose Club, Teamsters Local 317 and was a former usher and member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. He was employed with General Electric in the Heavy Military Department for 37 years, retiring in 1982. Lee loved to watch his grandsons play hockey and baseball. He is survived by his 2 sons, Nicholas P. Vecchiarelli and James M. Vecchiarelli of Cazenovia; 2 grandsons, J.R. and Joseph Vecchiarelli; longtime companion, Theresa Santillo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM in the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home and 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM.
