Leo "Bud" John Spear, Jr.'s Obituary
Leo “Bud” John Spear, Jr., 76, of Liverpool, passed away August 10, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Elizabeth and Leo John Spear, Sr. Bud graduated from North Syracuse High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at Eastern Airlines, he was also a cement mason; Bud was the owner and operator of CBM Contractors in Syracuse. More recently, he was a project manager for Aeroterm at Hancock Airport. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting, and loved spending time at the family cottage on Wolfe Island.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Edward Spear; his siblings, Margaret “Peggy”, Gracie and Jimmy.
Bud is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne (Root) Spear; two sons, Brian (Mariann) of Londonderry, VT and Dennis (Steven) of Boston, MA; two granddaughters, Emily and Abigail; two great-grandchildren, Penny and Ryder; many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Bud’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, with entombment to follow at Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, Rt 57 Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
