Leon J. Bill's Obituary
Leon J. Bill, 86, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife at his side on Thursday, January 7, 2016.
He was born in Syracuse and served with the U.S. Air Force.
Leon retired from IBM after 38 years of service and for 10 years taught at the Naval Academy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and was Pastoral Assistant for 14 years.
Leon loved music. He directed over 30 musicals utilizing semi-professional and community talent.
He is predeceased by his parents, Lee and Anna (Garofalo) Bill.
Leon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Ruscitto) Bill; his 7 children, Rosemary Fleury, Kathleen Greco, David, Ronald, Lee, Steven, Paul and their spouses; his brother, Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bill; his sister, Sr Rose Bill; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Leon’s life at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero with Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bill officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Anna’s Pantry, 8229 S. Main St., Cicero, NY 13039.
