Leonard LaRosa's Obituary
Leonard LaRosa, 89, of Palm Harbor, FL., passed away peacefully at Suncoast Hospice on Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Gregory and Helen (DiBartolo) LaRosa. Leonard served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired after 40 years from Niagara Mohawk. Leonard enjoyed horses, hunting and fishing. He also loved traveling with his beloved wife and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Carmella “Mel” (Giglio) LaRosa in 2011.
Leonard is survived by his 10 nieces and nephews who were considered “children” to him and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Leonard’s life at 9:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
