Leonard C. Spano, Sr.'s Obituary
Leonard C. Spano, Sr., 90, of Phoenix, NY, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. He was born in New York City, son of the late Christy and Maria (Panzarino) Spano. Leonard was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII, and was Honorably Discharge in 1947. He retired from Prestolite after 45 years of dedicated service.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by two sons, Mark and David, and his brother, Vito M. Spano.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor M. (Boardman) Spano; his daughter, Patricia A. Cornell of Phoenix, NY; two sons, Chris L. Spano of Phoenix, NY and Leonard C. (Lori) Spano, Jr. of Pulaski, NY; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Vona and Antoinette Raney, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. Stephen’s Church in Phoenix. Spring burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
