Leslie S. (Brown) Crystal's Obituary
Leslie S. (Brown) Crystal, 82, of Chittenango, NY, passed away on January 9, 2026 at The Cottages at Garden Grove. She was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Morton and Madge (Rutkowski) Brown and graduated from SUNY Oneonta. Leslie was a teacher at A.A. Cole Elementary School in Constantia, NY for many years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family and watching HGTV and cooking shows. Leslie enjoyed spending time with her husband, Gary, in the Thousand Islands. They had a beautiful summer home on Wellesley Island for 35 years.
In addition to her parents, Leslie is predeceased by her husband, Gary Crystal in 2023.
Leslie is survived by her children, Amy (Kurt) Frenzel, Brett Crystal (Jaime McGill), Gregg (Sharon) Crystal, Alison (Bradley) Patkochis; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Frenzel, Jacob and Lucas Crystal, Alyssa, Trevor, and Brianna Crystal, and Mason and Zac Patkochis.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff and nurses at Sitrin Rehabilitation Center and The Cottages at Garden Grove for taking such great care of their Mom.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Wellesley Island, NY at a later date.
