Levia "Lena" Calagiovanni's Obituary
Levia "Lena" Calagiovanni 92, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born October 17, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. Lena retired from Joseph J. Pietrafesa Co. after more than 50 years of employment, and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Lena was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, and past president of its St. Anthony Society. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Columbus serving as president and chairing several committees. Lena was predeceased by her brother John Marnell. Lena is survived by her husband Anthony Calagiovanni, niece Jean Durkin, nephews Michael (Rosemarie) Colagiovanni, and Richard (Alicia) Calagiovanni. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
