Liliane (Lil) K. Morrison's Obituary
Liliane (Lil) K. Morrison, 81, of Chestertown, N.Y. passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 9, 1932, in Chatou, France, she was the daughter of the late Jacques Mejean and Miriam Haigh. Lil emigrated to the United States with her father and stepmother, Genia Mejean, during World War II.
She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in English Literature. In 1965, she married her late husband, Robert Morrison. Lil, Robert and her family moved to Chestertown and were the owners and operators of Morrison's Fairways Motel from 1972 to 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Bernadette) Morrison of Monroe and Douglas (Wendy) Morrison of Liverpool; two grandchildren, Carly Morrison and Amy Morrison; one brother, Paul Mejean; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date in the spring.
