Exactly 30 years ago this morning, Linda was in the congregation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oswego Celebrating our wedding as Kathy and I said our vows. I regret that I can not be at Our Lady of Pompeii Church this morning to celebrate a memorial of Linda's life. I'm sure her many friends and large family are there to say wonderful things about Linda as they escort her to lasting peacefulness.
Those that know us the best can attest to all the remarkable parallels in Linda's life and my own, albeit I was spared the enormous suffering Linda endured,We had countless phone conversations over the years, some during my work day and some after I was in bed. We discussed everything from brain surgery to cheesecakes.
Linda's services are to begin in about 15 minutes and sadly I'm too far away to be there. Coincidentally, there's a man named Lou in my dental chair right now who happens to volunteer at Francis House. He claims he served Linda her final meal. Lou spoke very highly of Linda's enduring gracefulness and acceptance . He added how uncommon that is for people facing their premature mortality. I see the coincidence of bringing Lou and I together this morning as a miracle that in a real way brought Linda's eulogy and memorial services to me so I could be there after all.
We were 1st cousins but In many respects it feels like I'm losing my twin.. I'm heartbroken.
Sincerely,
John T. Damiano DDS
