Linda Jean (Dardano) Egerbrecht's Obituary
Linda Jean (Dardano) Egerbrecht, 75, of Pompey, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, to the late Salvatore and Carmella (Archino) Dardano. Linda graduated from Henninger High School and was employed for 22 years at Syracuse University as the Risk Management Insurance and Claims Manager. Prior to that she was employed for many years by Traveler’s Insurance Company. She served on the Board of Managers and was the Chair of the New York State Self-Insurers Association.
Linda was a devout Roman Catholic. Her family was everything to her. She dedicated her life to her family (especially her grandchildren) and made sure that everyone she loved knew it. Linda was the pillar of her family, always ensuring that family traditions were always continued with so much love. Whether it be Sunday dinners at her house, or holiday traditions, she’d often pull all nighters just to make sure everything was perfect. She loved spending time gardening and baking, and especially loved being outside and spending time at their pool with her family. Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband John, usually heading off to Florida each Spring together. Linda never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandkids, whether it be family vacations, going to the Ozfest, attending their sports events, or spa days at the nail salon.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, John Raymond Egerbrecht; her children, Paula (Cory) Frederick, John S. (Josie) Egerbrecht; grandchildren, Nicholas and Evan Petragnani, Reilly Frederick, John J., Ava, and Catherine Egerbrecht; and her sister, Anne Marie Campolo.
A special thank you to caregivers, Kerri and Rachel for caring for our mother with such love and compassion. Most importantly, we want to thank our Wife/Mom/Grandma for being the most loving and amazing person in our lives. She was so very loved and will never truly understand the impact that she has had on all of us.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive, Syracuse. Calling hours will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212.
