Linda L. Griffin's Obituary
Linda L. Griffin, 67, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Linda was born in Syracuse, graduated from St. Lucy’s and retired from National Grid after 20 years of service. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s hospital, where her life-long love of music was expressed playing the piano in the lobby. She also played piano at many area nursing homes and St. Lucy’s Church where she was an active communicant. Linda enjoyed gardening and loved Greyhound dogs volunteering in the dog rescue program.
She was predeceased by her parents; Edward J. Griffin and Leila Griffin and her brother, Robert E. Griffin.
Linda is survived by her son, Phillip M. Bova of Liverpool; sister-in-law, Jackie Griffin; two nephews, Ben (Marjie) Griffin and Robert Griffin and a great-niece, Rachel.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Linda’s life at 10:00 am in St. Lucy’s Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley road) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Area Meals on Wheels or St. Lucy’s Church, 432 Gifford Street, Syracuse NY 13204.
