Linda A. (Wildhack) Ryan's Obituary
Linda A. (Wildhack) Ryan, of Syracuse, N.Y., passed on August 13, 2022.
On July 27, 1950, Linda was born in Buffalo, NY to Robert and Beth Wildhack. She graduated from the Nottingham Convent of the Sacred Heart High School, and attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1972. She then studied Early Childhood Education/Psychology at Columbia University Teachers College Graduate School. She was a devoted Clinical Visitation Worker for the Salvation Army in Syracuse for many years.
Linda was an avid reader, and well-versed in current events. She enjoyed a wide variety of music from different eras and was a connoisseur of entertainment. Her professional life was dedicated to aiding disadvantaged youth.
Her joy and passion was her family. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law and was most proud to be an aunt and great aunt. Her nephews, nieces and grandniece provided her with countless joyful memories.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Barbara (Wildhack) McCluskey. She is survived by two brothers, Henry Wildhack (Teresa) and John Wildhack (Amy), as well as nephews and nieces, Rob Wildhack (Lindsey), Elizabeth McCluskey, Michael Wildhack, Megan McCluskey, Sean Wildhack, Tommy Wildhack and James Wildhack, and a grandniece, Hadley Wildhack.
Calling hours will be 5-7pm Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd E, Syracuse. A Memorial Service will be held at DeWitt Community Church Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11am. Private burial will be in the family plot in Newark Cemetery, Newark, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Linda’s honor be made to the Syracuse Chapter of the Salvation Army, 677 South Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
