Lois (Gumprecht) Owens' Obituary
Lois (Gumprecht) Owens, 91, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022 after a short illness. She characterized her final weeks as joyful while being loved and cared for by her family. Lois was born in Washington, DC and after attending college she proudly served in the Women's Army Corps for three years during the Korean War. While stationed at West Point, she met her future husband, Bill and embarked on the role she cherished most as the mother of three sons. In later years she delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Armand and Beatrice Gumprecht, brother Joe, husband Bill, and her beloved Black Lab K.C.
She is survived by her three sons, Bill Owens (Laurie), Bob Owens (Mary Beth), and Steve Owens, eight grandchildren, Kelly Vincentini (Don), Alison Chamberlain (Craig), Sarah Owens, Bob Owens (Keri), Kevin Owens (Rachel), Taylor Owens (Ryan), Danielle Owens (David), and Steven Michael Owens as well as six great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Lois’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville, NY. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
