Loren A. Cox's Obituary
Loren A. Cox, aka “Hitman”, 67, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, son of the late John I. Cox and Nancy P. (Moreland) Vinette.
Loren served in the U.S. Army and worked for UPS as a Tractor Trailer Driver Double 40’s and he was a retired Bridgeport Fire Police. He enjoyed boating, fishing, bonfires and BBQ’s with his friends and family. Loren loved cars, especially his Corvette until he sold it and bought his Cougar. He enjoyed going for drives and taking road trips anywhere he could. Above all, he loved spending time with his daughter, family, friends and his beloved dog, Daisy.
Along with his parents, Loren was predeceased by his wife, Susan (Weaver) Cox; his son, Loren David Cox; and his stepfather, Raymond Vinette.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer M. Cox (Harry Bernard); his ex-wife and mother of Jennifer, Robin G. Rhoads; his granddaughter, Lauren A. Parker (Cox); siblings, John Cox of Georgia, Paul Cox of Pulaski, Raymond Vinette (Gayle) of North Syracuse, and Vera Lynn Cox of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Stevie Ray Cox, Jennifer Cox, Nicholas Cox, Alexis Shelton, Justin Cox, Mackenzie Cox, Elizabeth (Vinette) and Justin Ferguson, and Daniel and Sarah Vinette; along with his 2 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
Family and friends may call on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M, immediately followed by a funeral service with military honors in celebration of Loren’s life at 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. He will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
