Loretta R. "Laurie" (nee LaVerne) Vanderpool's Obituary
Loretta R. (Laurie) (nee LaVerne) Vanderpool, 78, of Clay, NY entered into rest on January 31, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family after a sudden and brief illness. Born December 8, 1943 in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Florence LaVerne. Laurie was employed by AT&T as an administrative secretary for more than 20 years. She was a volunteer with the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Pantry, a member of the North Syracuse Senior Group, and enjoyed the North Area Family YMCA; as well as her bus trips, casino adventures and playing in the garden. Her most precious time was spent as a grandma and GG.
Laurie was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, William G. (Bill) (2010). Mother of Eileen Marie (Mark) Hibbard of Canastota, NY and Tracy Lynn Williams of Lockport, NY. Grandmother of Michael and Emily Hibbard of Chittenango, NY, David and Archit (Rastogi) Hibbard of Meriden, CT, Alicia Hibbard of Kirkville, NY, Brendan Williams of Newnan, GA, Rachel Williams of Denver, CO and Evan Williams (Paige Walters) of Columbus, OH. Great-grandmother of Joseph, Patrick, Benjamin, and Rosemary Hibbard of Chittenango, NY. Sister of RoseAnn (Tony) Deptula of Syracuse, NY, Michael (Patricia) LaVerne of Myrtle Beach, SC, Teresa Ahern (Tim Ennis) of Marcellus, NY and Kathy LaVerne of Solvay, NY; also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and good friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Laurie’s life at 11:30 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Baldwinsville. Interment will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
