Lorraine R. Marinelli's Obituary
Lorraine (Rivizzigno) Marinelli, 82, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Taddeo) Rivizzigno. Lorraine attended North High School and Central City Business Institute. She was a member of the Pompeian Players, President of Riordan Home and School Organization, Board of Directors of North High School Hall of Fame, and planned three year North High School reunions. Lorraine retired from National Grid and was president and owner of J & L Credit Association. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, attending her grandchildren’s sports activities, and was a huge SU fan.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Judy Rivizzigno.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Christopher (Cynthia) Marinelli of Cicero, NY, Laurie Marinelli (Craig Bunch) of Cicero, NY, and Lisa Marinelli (Greg) George of Omaha; grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Geiger, Courtney Marinelli, Lindsey and Ryan Grossman, and Austin and Jared George; great-grandchildren, Brielle Nicole Geiger and Weston Christopher Greiger; brother, Anthony Rivizzigno, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St. Syracuse. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
