Louis O. Eber Jr.'s Obituary
Louis O. Eber, Jr., 93, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and caregivers on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Born in Lyndhurst, NJ to the late Ellen (King) and Louis O. Eber, Sr., he graduated with a BS degree in electrical engineering from Stevens Institutes of Technology and with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and served in the US Navy. Louis worked nearly 50 dedicated years as an electrical engineer for General Electric and was part of the Over the Horizon Radar Program. Upon his retirement, Louis was a dedicated volunteer for AARP Central NY as a Tax Coordinator. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, and listening to opera music.
In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, D. Marie Eber in 2013; and his sister, Charlotte Eber in 2011.
Louis is survived by his son, James W. Eber (Gordon Parkhurst), and daughter, Ellen M. Eber.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. A funeral mass in celebration of Louis’ life will follow at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool. Per the family’s request, all those attending are asked to wear a facial covering. If you wish to attend the funeral mass remotely, please visit the Christ the King Liverpool YouTube page. Louis will be laid to rest beside his wife at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, at a later date.
