Louis D. Fiorenza's Obituary
Louis D. Fiorenza, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, NY to Vincent and Maria (Morabito) Fiorenza. He was a graduate of North High School. Louis retired from Niagara Mohawk after 38 years of service. He was a lifelong, faithful member of both St. Peter’s and St. Daniel’s Church and was an active member of the Holy Name Society.
We honor Louis for his unwavering faith and selflessness. He was most proud of his family who could not have been more blessed to call him Daddy and Papa Louie. He was a loyal St. Louis Cardinal fan.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Delores M. (Russo) Fiorenza; they shared 55 beautiful years together. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Larry Fiorenza, Butch Fiorenza, and his sister, Lena Trichilo.
Louis is survived by his children: Joanne McCollum (Ron Capozzi), Vincent (Virginia) Fiorenza, Terri (David) Wicks, Nancy Fiorenza (John Coleman), Louanne (Michael) Guiffrida, Kathleen Fiorenza, Lisa (Scott) Miller, and Christine (Zachary) VanValkenburgh, 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the nurses and doctors on the second floor at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Louis’ life at 12:10 PM in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
