Louis D. Frateschi's Obituary
Louis D. Frateschi, 80, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Syracuse, NY to Thomas and Mary Frateschi, and was a lifetime member of Christian Apostolic Church. He was employed by General Motors for over 28 years. Lou was a beloved grandfather, well known for his "Pasta Sundays" and meatball tastings with his grandchildren (and sometimes Uncle Joe!). His love and dedication for his family in Italy was revealed by weekly long-distance calls and multiple trips to Sonnino.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dina Currado Frateschi, and four older siblings.
Lou is survived by his children, Mary (Christopher) LaRussa, David (Dawn) Frateschi, Peter (Sarah) Frateschi, and Ruth (Joseph) Marotti. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Antonio, Joseph (Hanna), Luigi, Joshua, Giovanna, Michaela (Matthew), Christiana, Sophia, Jessica, and Laura. He also has one great grandson, Vincenzo, and many nieces and nephews.
We are grateful to Drs. Hasaan Shukri (CNY Neurology) and Peter Christiano (CNY Family Care) for the excellent care they gave our dad for many years.
A wake will be held at Christian Apostolic Church (7300 Woodchuck Hill Road Fayetteville, NY) on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 10am-11am followed by a funeral service from 11am-12pm. A graveside service will follow for immediate family only.
Contributions can be made to Christian Apostolic Church.
