Louis Gravante's Obituary
Louis Gravante, 85, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late John and Angelina (Bosco) Gravante. Louis served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a foreman with General Electric for 20 years and then worked as a Deputy Sheriff part-time. Louis was also head of security at Shopping Town Mall, Penn Can Mall and Shop City. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Camillus since 1957 where he directed traffic for them for over 50 years.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Flora (Pelliccia) Gravante; his two sons, Louis J. (Regina) Gravante of Baldwinsville and David J. (Erin) Gravante of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Chanel, Anthony, Aliyah, Katherine, David and Michael; two sisters, Agnes (Joseph) Salvatore and Jenny Boulier; three brothers, Joseph (Josephine) Gravante, Anthony (Mitzi) Gravante and John (Donna) Gravante along with many nieces, nephew and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 am in St. Joseph Church, Camillus. Burial will follow in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
