Louis A. Grenga's Obituary
Louis A. Grenga, 95, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2020. He was born in Syracuse the youngest of 7 children to Antonio and Filomena Grenga. Louis was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the SS Europa in the European Theatre of WWII. Lou was a member of the Sheet Metal Local #58 for over 70 years and was an avid NY Yankee fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed to bowl, golf, tend to his garden and eat sweets, but most of all Lou loved to spend time with his beloved family.
Lou is predeceased by his infant son, Louis A. Grenga, Jr.; a sister, Ann; brothers, Gaetono, Tom, John, Carl and America.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Frances (Milazzo) Grenga; a daughter, Michele (Anthony) Chiodo; sons, David (Antoniette) and Louis (Jane) Grenga; grandchildren, Karri, Michael, Nicole, Marion, Samantha, Riley, Carly and Bailey; 10 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church, Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
