Louis F. Levanti's Obituary
Louis F. Levanti, 72, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home with his beloved wife of 50 years by his side on July 30, 2022. He was born in NYC, son of the late Frank and Josephine (Bella) Levanti and graduated from Henninger High School in 1967. He received his B.S. and B.A. in Liberal Arts from Syracuse University in 1971 and his MS in Social Studies Education in 1975 from SU and was a member of Alpha Chi Rho. Louis taught in the Liverpool School District for 10 years; he also was a Principal at Living Word Academy for over 20 years and Faith Heritage School for 10 years. Louis retired after 10 years from Liberty Resources in 2020. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, NY Yankees and was an avid SU season ticket holder. Louis had a spotless memory and recounted detailed stories of history and his childhood. He had a deep, strong faith and devotion to God, those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember him for his strong love and lifelong dedication to provide for his family. He was a 2x cancer survivor. Above all, Lou enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his stepfather, Rocco Chiaferi and his son-in-law, Mark Wallace.
Louis is survived by his wife, Ann (Olean) Levanti; two daughters, Leandre (Ben) Majerus, and Taryn Wallace; three grandchildren, Alexis and Zachery Majerus, Adriana Wallace; siblings, Connie (Garry) Maderi and John (Karen) Levanti; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Louis’ life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
