Louis E. Vercillo's Obituary
Louis E. Vercillo, 93, of Syracuse, passed away July 9, 2024 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Peter and Agnes (Snow) Vercillo. Louis was a proud U.S. Army veteran, and served on the front lines during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Electric after many dedicated years and owned East Syracuse Pizza. Louis enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, Matthew DeGirolamo, and siblings, Mary Cooper, Theresa Vercillo, Peter Vercillo and Donna Jacobson.
Louis is survived by 6 children, Nessa Vercillo (Art DeGirolamo), Peter Vercillo (Dar), Louis Vercillo (Lisa Alvaro), Theresa Vercillo Woodward (John), Patrick Vercillo and John Vercillo (Sarah); 11 grandchildren, Michael and Andrew DeGirolamo, Lauren Sanson, Nicole Lorini King, John and Noelle Woodward, Dallas, Landrey, Kehlee, James and Samuel Vercillo; 4 great-grandchildren, Julianna King, Olivia and Madison Sanson, Mila DeGirolamo; his brother, David Vercillo (Donna); sister-in-law, June Vercillo, along with many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9 am – 10:45 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Louis’ life at 11:00 am and Military Honors at the church.
