Louise J. (Capparelli) Messina's Obituary
Louise J. (Capparelli) Messina, 92, life resident of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine (DePalma) Capparelli. Louise was a hard worker, although taking care of her family was her priority; she always wanted to be there for her children, and later her seven grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. She loved to dance, enjoyed taking walks, bingo and scratch off tickets. Most importantly, Louise loved spending time with her family, and will be truly missed.
She is predeceased by her husband, Carmen S. Messina; daughter, Donna L. Johnson; son-in-law, Michael F. Spaulding and her brother, Nicholas Capparelli.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Diane C. Spaulding; her son, Joseph C. Messina; a son-in-law, Tom Johnson; seven grandchildren, Michael (Dani), David (Lisa), Matthew (Christina), Aaron (Mikki), Andrew, Travis, and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren, Alivia, Saedee, Isabella, Cole, Jack, Claire and Nolan; one great-grandchild, Daniel, all whom she loved more than anything else in the world; siblings, Adelaide Filippi and Louis Capparelli, as well as several nieces and nephews who will never forget “Aunt Louise”.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:30 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, immediately followed by a celebration of Louise’s life at 2:30 pm. Entombment will take place at 12 (noon) on Monday, September 23, 2019 in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse.
