Louise DeSantis' Obituary
Louise (Darminio) DeSantis, 106, of Syracuse passed away Christmas Day surrounded by her loving family. A native of Darby, Pa., she resided in the Syracuse area most of her life. She was the widow of Thomas DeSantis who passed away in 1976. Louise loved the holidays especially Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She loved cooking and baking and having a house full of family and friends. Everyone always gathered at Louise's House for Christmas Eve. She was known for her sparkle and humorous wit even in her later years, always possessing a positive attitude. She affectionately called everyone "George". She was a lover of life at its' fullest.
Louise was predeceased by 3 sisters Mary Matherson, Lucy D'Onofrio and Anna Alessi, 3 brothers, Joseph, Carmen and Benjamin Darminio. She is survived by Her son: Mario C. (Anita) DeSantis ,of Syracuse, 5 grandchildren, Maria A. DeSantis of Syracuse, Thomas J. DeSantis of Syracuse, Andrea M. DeSantis of Yonkers, Mario Charles (Debbie) DeSantis of Camillus, and Joanna M. DeSantis of Jamesville, her sister Helen Catalino of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Iroquois Nursing Home for treating Louise like their own mother, giving her loving kindness and exceptional care.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00AM Saturday in the Thomas J. Pirro, Jr. Funeral Home and at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Pompei Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and Friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.), Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
