Louise N. (Russo) Marches' Obituary
Louise N. (Russo) Marches, 88, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024 at Francis House with her beloved daughter by her side. She was born on the Northside of Syracuse, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Caiello) Russo and was a 1953 graduate of North High School. Louise married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Anthony Marches in 1961, where he was stationed in Germany.
Louise was an independent travel agent of 35 years, specializing in honeymoons and corporate travel.
In her younger years, she volunteered a lot of her time with her daughter’s schools as a chaperone for school activities and helped cook in their kitchens. She absolutely loved to travel and explore new places; she also enjoyed bowling in a league for many years, dancing, listening to music, playing cards, and trips to the casino around the U.S. After retirement, she enjoyed taking trips with friends and family, cooking, puttering around the house, and babysitting her grand pups. Louise was a devout Catholic, and above all, enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Phillip; her sister, Adele (Joe) Sereluca, and her brother, Alex Russo.
Louise is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa L. Marches; her sister, Ann Marie Cerimeli, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to all the workers at Silver Fox Adult Day Program for their exemplary care of Louise since 2016 and her private aide, Leann for her hands on compassionate care given to Louise throughout her illness.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 9:15 – 10:15 am, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Louise’s life at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Following mass, she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Silver Fox Adult Day Care Center, 22 E. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027 and/or Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
