Lucille G. Parella 's Obituary
Lucille G. Parella, 93, of Syracuse, passed away on October 19, 2019. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (DeYulio) Parella. After high school, she started her career at GE then moved to Syracuse China where she worked until retirement. Lucille loved Jesus which was evident in her life of service to her family and church. She was a Sunday School teacher at Pentecostal Christian Assembly and led a girls group (Missionettes) at North Central Church. She always sought ways to serve by washing dishes, cleaning and was even a dedicated caregiver to multiple family members through the years. Lucille did everything with excellence, down to her delicious Italian cookies that she baked for every wedding, graduation, & holiday. She lived to give and did so unselfishly. She was “Aunt Lu” to everyone.
Lucille is predeceased by three sisters, Anna Spinoza, Dorothy Rufo, & Ruth Luckette, and two brothers-in-law, Matthew Spinoza & Dwayne Schinzing. Lucille is survived by sisters, Frances Jean (Albert) Rufo of Liverpool, and Joan Schinzing of Liverpool; one brother, James (Carol) Cummings of Syracuse; two brothers-in-law, Daniel Rufo of Syracuse and Richard Luckette of Baldwinsville, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Lucille’s life officiated by Pastor Dan Williams will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at North Central Church, 7463 Buckley Rd., North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at North Central Church, 7463 Buckley Rd., North Syracuse, NY.
