Lucretia "Lucy" (Parrotti) Zazzara's Obituary
Lucretia “Lucy” (Parrotti) Zazzara, 98, of Syracuse, passed away June 20, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Italy, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Orlando) Parrotti.
Lucy arrived in Syracuse at the age of 6 and made it her home. Early on in her life, she contracted tuberculosis, but with great strength, fortitude, and an almost three-year recovery period, she went on to marry the one and only love of her life. She traveled to many exotic places with him, raised a family, and worked in the family restaurant businesses including The Villa Restaurant, The Villa Capri, and Villa Pizze Fritte at the State Fair. After her husbands passing, she continued to travel with family and friends and enjoyed every moment she shared with them.
Lucy enjoyed cooking and loved to bake, especially her famous cream puffs. The only thing she enjoyed more was feeding family and friends these treats when they came to visit. She loved listening to music and would even kick up a heel or two, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and growing family.
Lucy will be remembered for her style, grace, warmth, and ability to make everyone she met feel like a member of her family. She will be missed by many.
Lucy is also predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Zazzara in 1998; two sisters, Mary Howard and Carmella Locaputo; two brothers, Anthony Parrotti and John Perrotta. She is survived by her son, Graziano (Sharon) Zazzara of Fayetteville; two daughters, Amelia Zazzara Kinzie of Lafayette and Francine (Daniel) Monti of DeWitt; four grandchildren, Ryan (Meghan) Kinzie, Graziano (Maura) Zazzara, Jr., Kathleen Zazzara and Joseph Zazzara; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Madison, and Julianna Kinzie, Ava, Graziano III, Mia and Rocky Zazzara;; sister-in-law, Arlene Perrotta; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
