Lucy J. (D'Alessio) Delmonico's Obituary
Lucy J. (D’Alessio) Delmonico, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Angelo and Fannie (Zaccanelli) D’Alessio. Lucy graduated from North High School and grew up on the Northside of Syracuse. She raised her family and resided in the Pitcher Hill Neighborhood for most of her life. Lucy enjoyed golfing and traveling. She loved cooking for family and friends, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Lucy had a great sense of humor and will be truly missed by many.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence D. “Larry” Delmonico in 2009; her sister, Grace, and her brother, Joseph.
Lucy is survived by two sons, David (Sue) Delmonico of Fairport, NY and Richard (Sanna) Delmonico of Napa, CA; three grandchildren, Chris, John, and Julie Delmonico; siblings, Stella D’Alessio, Betty Divens, Yolanda Healy, Gloria (Jerry) Norfleet, Aggie (Gus) Olson, and John (Maryann) D’Alessio; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool, NY 13088.
